We've been in our house now almost 10 years and from day one I have tried to find ways to move this and that and make room to accomodate our need for more space. One small thing always stood in the way of my great ideas.... MONEY! Taking out windows and adding French doors.... taking out a bedroom closet and adding a master bath...tearing down walls and opening up the living space. Well all these were and still are great ideas in my mind but my wallet says.... WHOA Cowgirl! As it turns out one of my ideas actually came to fruition or at least will soon. Billy Head and I agreed it was time to open up the kitchen for more space and give the room we live in the most a more modern look.
This is before...
Green cabinets and black appliances and a very dated and beat up countertop to match a very dated and beat up vinyl floor.
And when the family comes to visit...things are just a little cramped.
So we hired a great contractor named Mike Walker and the project began. It started something like this:

Hopefully I will have some more photos to post soon. Right now we're at a stand still because I don't have time to finish painting. Who knows, hopefully this weekend I will get a few hours to get busy. Have a great weekend.
